Infor10 Lawson S3 |
It's been over two years since Infor10 Lawson S3 emerged following the Lawson acquisition by Infor. The vast majority are starting your upgrades. Here are my original thoughts and some (updated) answers to your questions...

Quote of the Issue |
"Contrary to general belief, I do not believe that friends are necessarily the people you like best, they are merely the people who got there first."

Welcome to the latest issue of The LawsonGuru Letter, a free newsletter providing provocative commentary on issues important to the Lawson Software community.
With the summer holidays fully upon us, many of you are either vacationing or otherwise enjoying (hopefully!) some time off.
The majority of Lawson clients are still planning for the Infor10 Lawson S3 upgrade, so I've included a previous blog post about Infor10 with some additional recent comments.
The LawsonGuru Letter is published by--and is solely the opinion of--John Henley of Decision Analytics.

HR02 Department - Add Manager? |
Looking for any suggestions on how to tie the Department Manager to the Department on HR02. Pondering adding a custom field but wondering if anyone has used User Analysis for that? Lawson Licenses |
As part of our original implementation of Lawson our goal was to enable all project managers - even those with small programs - to go into Lawson and inquire on their finances. Projects with multiple funding sources are set up in the grant module. Recently we learned that just inquiring on their project will require licenses to two different Lawson modules - FINPRO and GMP. We are considering changing our structure so only those that set up and maintain grants have access. Has anyone else dealt with this? Read More... |

Two items, different vendors on PO13.3 |
If an item is going to be replaced by another item from a DIFFERENT vendor, should a new PO13.3 record be created for the new item? I'm asking because I see in our system where the Replace and Inactivate option was done for an item, but the item replacing it was for a different vendor than the PO13.3 was originally created for. This doesn't seem right to me. I would think that any items listed on a PO13.3 form should all be from the vendor associated on that PO13.3. Is that correct?? Read More... |
